I hear these questions quite often:
- What is God’s plan for my recovery?
- How can God use me in my recovery?
- When do I know it’s the right time to move forward?
Let me offer a simple formula: GW + GT = GF.
Start with God’s will. There are several ways you can know God’s will – through his Word, the counsel of others, the Holy Spirit, and the wisdom God promises.
Then seek God’s timing. When we started There’s Still Hope in 2017, that was the culmination of a lot of work in 2015 and 2016. Timing is everything.
Go forward. Once God’s will is known and his timing is understood, go for it. Paul told the Ephesians, “I will come back if it is God’s will” (Acts 18:21).
Recovery Step: It is not always easy to know God’s will or his timing. That is why it is so important to seek him diligently, every day.
