David Letterman said, “Halloween is the beginning of the holiday shopping season. That’s for women. The beginning of the shopping season for men is Christmas Eve.”
Here’s the bigger lesson. Men and women are different. In fact, I’ll go even further. Ready for this?
Men and men are different.
Women and women are different.
You are different.
Every person is the unique, creative work of God. Embrace the differences between you and your spouse. Don’t expect him or her to be like anyone else you know. Every person is different, we do recovery a bit differently, and we progress at different paces.
We are different.
Recovery Step: You have a unique set of gifts and personality traits (Romans 12:6-8). Don’t expect to be like anyone else. And don’t put those expectations on your husband or wife.
