Charles Osborne spent 68 consecutive years hiccupping. He finally found a cure, then died within a year.
Don’t feel too sorry for Charles. A lot of us die before we find a cure, rather than after.
I suggest you start chasing after your dreams now; there is no good reason to wait. But first, you have to define what those dreams are.
USA Today surveyed Americans, asking them what they wanted to accomplish before they died. The top five responses were, in order:
- Change someone else’s life.
- Get to my ideal weight.
- Go on a safari.
- Ride a hot air balloon.
- See the Northern Lights.
Let me add another one – recovery.
You can’t go back and change the past, but you can still change the future. You do that with a laser focus. If you want to walk in recovery, get started today. Do the things you already know to do. Go to meetings, see a C.S.A.T. Work the steps.
Recovery Step: The Bible warns, “Do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey its lusts” (Romans 6:12). You have your marching orders. It’s time to go to work.
