From the Sermon on the Mount we read these words: “Until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, nor the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).
Jesus said that even “the least stroke of the pen” from God’s Word matters. The Bible contains 23,145 verses. Every one of them counts. So the next time you open up your Bible, look for a “least stroke of the pen” which you may have missed before. Look for nuggets of truth in every passage.
The same principle applies to recovery. For your next meeting, I encourage you to do one thing differently.
Bring a highlighter.
Yes, a highlighter. Throughout the reading, look for a word or phrase to jump out – perhaps something you have missed before.
The last stroke of the pen.
Recovery Step: Bring a highlighter to your next recovery meeting.
