The most holy place you will ever be is in the presence of God, wherever you find that.
The old prophet said of the Lord, “He will be a holy place” (Isaiah 8:14).
The Hebrew root word for “holy” is qadosh; the Greek word is hagios. Both words, form the Old and New Testaments, mean the same thing – set apart. God’s holiness includes his two essential qualities: absolute transcendence and infinite purity.
A.W. Tozer said it so well: “Holy is the way God is. To be holy, he does not conform to a standard. He is that standard. Because he is holy, all of his attributes are holy.”
You cannot become Christlike without assuming his character. To grow spiritually is to become holy.
Recovery Step: Seek the holiness of God. Live that holiness. Embrace that holiness. Let that holiness inform every decision you ever make.
