Let’s talk about the Holy Spirit.
Oswald Chambers once said, “The Holy Spirit is the first practical power we come to experience. But he’s the last power that we come to understand in the Christian life.”
Benny Tate, in his groundbreaking book, Unlimited, writes, “Many times, we’re seeking something rather than somebody. There are fruits of the Spirit. There are gifts of the Spirit. I don’t think we should seek the fruit. I don’t think we should seek the gifts. I think we should simply seek the Holy Spirit.”
If we are to reap the benefits of a Spirit-filled, Spirit-led life, we must quit seeking his blessings and start seeking himself.
Jesus said it like this: “God is Spirit and they who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth” (John 4:23).
Recovery Step: Seek God the Holy Spirit, with all of your mind, soul, and spirit.
