A man bragged to his friends that he had finally met the woman of his dreams. “What should I do next?” he asked them.
“Invite her over for a home-cooked meal,” they told their friend.
A few days later, the buddies got back together. Someone asked the man how things went with his date.
“Horrible,” he said.
“Didn’t you invite her over for a home-cooked meal?”
“Yes,” he answered. “But when she arrived, she refused to cook it.”
That’s what’s wrong with too many marriages. We want a spouse who will bless us more than we want a spouse whom we can bless.
