“God chose us to be holy” (Ephesians 1:4).
More than anything else, you were created for holiness. In order to live a life of holiness, you and I must disengage from unholiness. That means cutting ourselves off from the behaviors which Jesus personally identified as being contrary to the life we are called to live.
Pick one attribute from the following list that you need to focus on this week: evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.
Now, get to work. Confess this shortcoming in your life to your holy God. Ask him for help in living a different kind of life. Commit to daily holiness.
Recovery Step: You know your personal flaws and weaknesses. Ask God to help you move beyond these behaviors in order that you might live a holy life.
