An article by the Harvard Medical School identifies five action steps for quitting an addiction. One of those steps is to create a support network.
They write, “Talk to your family and friends and ask for their encouragement and support. Let them know you are quitting.”
Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
The power of encouragement cannot be overstated. Otherwise, we wouldn’t read this jewel in Scripture: “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).
Recovery Step: If you need help in your recovery, surround yourself with a few encouragers. If you want to help someone else, encourage them.
