One of the great threats to our sobriety is the comparison trap. We want to be like someone else. But the truth is, God created you just right, in order to do the things no one else can do.
Catherine of Siena said, “Be who God meant for you to be and you will set the world on fire.”
The psalmist said it like this: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).
So how different are you? Let’s talk DNA. Twins have the same DNA. But the chances of two siblings who are not twins having the same DNA are one in 70 trillion.
Translation – we are all creatively and uniquely made.
Your story, struggles, and setbacks are unique to you. This all serves to prepare you to connect with people in your own way. God wants to use you to help others, in ways he cannot use anyone else.
Recovery Step: Step 12 says that the result of our own recovery is that we help others with theirs. You are uniquely created to do that. So get started!
