I love giant aquariums. Like everyone else, I am drawn to the large tank, with sharks mixed in with other fish of all shapes, colors, and sizes. One day, as I was watching the fish swim in their predictable patterns, it hit me.
Why do the sharks not eat the other fish?
Anywhere else, the sharks eat the other fish. But not in the aquarium. Why is this?
It is because the workers feed the sharks so well that they don’t need to eat the other fish to survive.
As addicts, we consume the wrong thing. We settle for small fish when we can be feasting on the Bread of Life.
What God did before, he will do today. “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known” (Deuteronomy 8:3).
Recovery Step: Allow God to satisfy your appetite with the Bread that never runs out.
