John tapped into the secret to a pure life. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
John understood the magic of connection, or “fellowship with one another,” because Jesus modeled it for him over the entire time they were together. Jesus didn’t just talk about connecting with others; he did it.
A friend recently commented, “Perhaps the greatest miracle of Jesus was that he had 12 close guy friends in his 30s.”
There’s something to that. How many close friends do you have? The great theologian John Lennon said it like this:
“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.”
