For those living in America, today is Independence Day, which marks the birth of the nation. When I celebrate today, two thoughts come to mind.
- “Our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20).
- “What the people want is very simple – they want an America as good as its promise” (Barbara Jordan).
We have daily readers from at least 17 countries. But we all share one common citizenship – in heaven.
And we all want to be as good as our promise – sobriety and recovery one day at a time.
Whether you are reading this from America, Australia, Uganda, Ireland, Canada, Argentina, Kenya, Norway, South Africa, Great Britain, China, Israel, or another country, this can be Independence Day. Jesus came to set us free.
Recovery Step: Celebrate your freedom today – freedom from sin, addiction, and bondage.
