Do you want to live a life of integrity? Let’s talk about it. “Integrity” is an interesting word.
The root word is “integer,” which means “unit of one.” It’s about the whole pie, not just one slice.
The moment you start segmenting your life into different pieces – your church life, family life, work life, etc. – you’ve lost your integrity. When your private life is inconsistent with your public life, you’ve lost your integrity. When you say one thing and do another, again – no integrity.
Solomon weighed in: “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity” (Proverbs 11:3).
There is no recovery apart from a life of integrity. You recognize that what you think matters as much as what you do. Who you are when no one is watching is who you are – really.
Recovery Step: Become the person your dog thinks you are.
