We live in a porn-crazed time. Covenant Eyes reports that $3,075.64 is spent on porn every second and that young adults think that not recycling is worse than viewing porn. Further, more than 50,000 church leaders in the United States are using porn on a regular basis.
The Bible is abundantly clear. “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral” (Hebrews 13:4).
Stephen Arterburn says it like this, in Every Man’s Battle: “No wife should be made to share the intimacy of her marriage bed with some shameless porn model.”
I’ve heard many guys say, “Yes, I use porn, but at least I haven’t had an affair.” Tell your wife that! Let me know what she says.
Affair partners come in many forms. Some are live women and men. Others are images on a screen. In all cases, they are wrong.
Recovery Step: It’s time to quit making excuses and to quit minimizing your porn use. You can call it what you want. God calls it “sexually immoral.” And that is all you need to know in order to want to get well.
