“Be instant in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).
Those were Paul’s words to his closest disciple, in the final chapter of his final letter. He was telling young Timothy to do the right thing, whether he felt like it or not.
Oswald Chambers wrote, “If we do only what we feel inclined to do, some of us would never do anything.”
Here are a few things you may not feel inclined to do, but that you need to do anyway.
- Work the 12 Steps.
- Pray the Serenity Prayer.
- Read a recovery book.
- Get in my 90-day recovery program.
- Join one of my Freedom Groups.
- See a therapist.
Recovery Step: Pick one of two things from the list above, and get after it – whether you feel like it or not.
