Here’s your question for today. Is sexual addiction a result of:
- Overactive libido
- Spouse’s sexual disinterest
- Cultural permissiveness
- None of the above
The answer, of course, is none of the above.
Sexual addiction specialist Todd Frye writes, “Sexual addiction is not about sex. Sexual addiction is more of an intimacy disorder than a sex disorder.”
The answer? Bring your struggles to the light. “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Proverbs 28:13).
Recovery Step: In order to work on your sexual addiction, you need to work on intimacy. In order to do that, you need to bring everything to the light. Everything.
