Let’s talk “journey.”
The road is not always easy, but it is always worth it. God promises, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2).
Add these words from Max Lucado: “God never said that the journey would be easy, but he did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.”
That’s the key – the arrival. Too many of us do a great job getting to the wrong place. Let me be clear. Your ultimate goal is not sobriety. It’s not even recovery. It is God himself.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “God leads us along the straightest path to himself.”
Recovery Step: Seek answers, and you find frustration. Seek God, and the answers will find you.
