Let me give you two powerful words – keep moving.
That’s what the early church did. As soon as they had set apart five elders to lead the church, they sent two of them away. “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them’” (Acts 13:2).
The church was not content to stand still. They had to keep moving. So they sent their two most gifted leaders 16 miles down the road to plant another church.
The final two words of my cardiac trainer, after 36 sessions, were these: “Keep moving.”
In recovery, we never arrive. No one finishes the 12 Steps; they just start them over again. No one owns sobriety; we rent it. Every person I know – no exceptions – who has long-term sobriety has this in common – they keep moving.
Recovery Step: I think you know what I’m going to say next. Keep moving.
