A college student sent a letter back home to his parents.
“Dear Mom and Dad, I was thrown out of college for smoking pot. I just got married, because I got my girlfriend pregnant. And I was arrested for stealing cash from work.”
The student continued. “None of that is true. But what is true is that I failed chemistry. I just wanted you to know things could have been worse.”
Things can always be worse. I suspect that if we threw our problems into a pile and then saw everyone else’s pile, we’d grab our pile back.
The fact that you’re alive, have the hope of the Gospel, and are healthy and wealthy enough to read this means that you have been truly blessed.
Recovery Step: Say it with me: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
