There is an old proverb that says, “Fear knocked on the door, faith answered, and there was no one there.”
Unfortunately, fear knocks on a lot of our doors. We have fear of failure, fear of relapse, fear of staying with our spouse, fear of life.
Max Lucado offers the perfect response to fear. He writes, “There is an antidote to our fears – trust. If we trust in God more, we will fear life less.”
David agrees: “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you” (Psalm 56:3).
Fear is an inevitable part of life. The world is on fire, the economy is uncertain, and health scares abound. To have fear is certain; to live in fear is not.
Recovery Step: Heed the simple words of Chuck Swindoll. “We must cease striving and trust God.”
