A few years ago, a guy in my 12-step group confessed his relapse.
His story went something like this: “My wife was out of town, so I went out with some friends. We had a few drinks, then we went to a movie with a lot of sex scenes. When I got home, I stayed up late, browsing the Internet. Then things just got away from me.”
My friend’s relapse was inevitable. Lassie could have seen this coming.
Paul wrote, “The sins of some are obvious” (1 Timothy 5:25).
Here’s my advice . . .
Don’t be stupid.
No, that’s not real deep. But it might be helpful. Sometimes the best thing you can do is the obvious thing to do.
Recovery Step: Don’t make things complicated. Do the next right thing.
