Noah was a late bloomer. He married at the age of 498 and lived to 950. He built the first ship to prepare for the first flood the world had ever known. A man of patience, it took Noah 120 years to complete the ark. At 440 feet in length, the boat was 1.5 times as long as a football field. Tiger Woods would require a driver followed by a five-iron to hit a ball from one end of the ark to the other.
Another late bloomer was Benjamin Franklin. He dropped out of school at age ten. But that didn’t hold him back. By age 25, he founded the first public library, and he established the first official fire department at age 29. But he really got things going later in life. At age 70, he was the oldest signer of the Declaration of Independence.
You can accomplish much late in life.
The Scripture says, “Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life” (Proverbs 16:31).
Recovery Step: It is never too late to get sober. It is never too late to help someone else. And it is never too late to live a life of integrity.
