Three elementary school friends were bragging about their ancestors. One boy said, “My grandfather was a World War II hero.” The second boy said, “That’s nothing! My great-grandfather led the American League in home runs in 1912.”
They turned to the third boy, who said, “I’ve got you both beat. If my great-grandfather was still alive, he’d be the most famous man in the world today!”
They asked him, “Why? What big thing did he do?”
“Nothing,” replied the third boy. “But if he was alive today, he’d be 155 years old, the oldest man on the planet.”
We all have something to be proud of in our heritage. As for me, my dad fought in WWII and my grandfather fought in WWI.
Here’s my question. What legacy will you leave behind? What will your grandchildren say about you?
Recovery Step: The Bible says the best thing a man can leave his son is a good reputation (Proverbs 13:22). You can start doing that right now.
