As a senior pastor, I grew my personal library to over 2,000 books. My library was like a lot of people I know. I had a lot of books, but I had not read them all. I had more resources at my fingertips than I ever used.
In recovery, you have all you need to stay sober for the next 24 minutes and the next 24 hours. Your problem is not a lack of resources, but your failure to take advantage of those resources. As Saint Augustine said, “God provides the wind, but man must raise the sail.”
The great apostle said, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
Quit asking for more resources and more blessings. Start using what you already have.
Recovery Step: God has given you every resource you need to stay sober. The next move is yours.
