“The Lord’s lovingkindnesses never cease, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Lou Gehrig was one of baseball’s all-time greats. He was known for good sportsmanship. One day, after being called out on a strike 3 pitch which was clearly outside the strike zone, Gehrig turned and said something to the umpire. This was odd, given that he never argued with umpires.
After the game, a reporter asked the umpire what Gehrig had said to him. The umpire said, “He turned to me and said, ‘I wish I had that one over again.’”
Lou Gehrig demonstrated lovingkindness and compassion. Multiply that a squillion times and you begin to get a sense of who God – every day.
