See if you can match the TV lines to their respective shows:
The famous lines:
- “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.”
- “Live, from New York, it’s Saturday night!”
- “Survey says!”
The television shows:
- Saturday Night Live
- Family Feud
- The Brady Bunch
Okay, for those of you in the U.S., that was pretty easy. Now, let’s try a much more important match. What is absolutely necessary for successful recovery?
- Desperation
- Surrender
- Disclosure
- Community
- All of the above
If you said, “All of the above,” you were right. Anything less simply won’t work.
Recovery Step: Jesus asked a sick man, “Do you want to be well?” (John 5:6). Then he gave him the roadmap above. You must be desperate, surrendered to God, known to someone else, and living in an intentional community. Nothing less will work.
