Can you name this person?
Born in Mississippi, he was raised in rooming houses. He wanted to be a musician, but never had any kind of formal musical training. When he tried out for choir in the eighth grade, his music teacher gave him a “C.” Undeterred, he bought his first guitar the next day. He was told he had no talent, but he refused to give up on his dreams.
His name? Elvis Presley.
Elvis would go on to sell more albums than any solo artist who has ever lived.
The Bible offers this simple advice to all who have big dreams: “Be all the more diligent” (2 Peter 1:10).
The difference between failure and success is often just that – diligence. That is especially true of recovery. Staying at the task when you really want to quit will make all the difference.
Recovery Step: Get on a daily recovery plan. Then stick to it.
