Finishing strong is epic.
Ever heard of a fellow named Napoleon Bonaparte? One of the greatest military minds and conquerors in history, Napoleon died on this date 203 years ago. Things didn’t end as he would have hoped.
After expanding the French empire across Europe, he began to experience military setbacks in 1812 and suffered his final defeat at Waterloo at the hands of an allied force in 1815. For that, he was exiled to the remote island of Saint Helena, where he died on May 5, 1821. His last six years were marked by isolation and loneliness.
Regardless of your past, you can finish strong. You can say, with Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race” (2 Timothy 4:7).
Recovery Step: Write down five things you can start doing today in order to finish strong.
