November 22, 1963, is a date most of you will recognize. It was on that Friday that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated as his presidential limousine made its way through downtown Dallas, bringing an end to the innocence of America.
But I would argue that May 29, 1917, was an even more important date. It was on that day, 105 years ago today, that John F. Kennedy was born.
We spend too much time focused on how things end, and not enough time on how they began. The most important 12-step meeting you will ever attend will be your first one. The most important therapy session you ever schedule will be your first one. The most important step is Step 1.
God said, “I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19).
Recovery Step: Say it with me – “New. New. New. God wants to do a New Thing in my life.”
