This is the day we all make promises for the coming year. But I say, forget the next year. Let’s talk about the next 24 hours.
We can do a lot in a day.
In one day in 1993, Charles Servizio did 46,001 pushups. In one day, Ben Feldman sold $20 million of insurance. In one day, Will Ferrell played for 10 MLB teams. (It was Spring Training.) In one day, the Girl Scouts bake 4.5 million thin mints.
Jesus warned, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries” (Matthew 6:34).
It is great to set goals for the next year. But it’s better to set goals for the next day. Then, when you get out of bed tomorrow, do it all over again.
Recovery Step: Anyone can make a New Year’s resolution. I suggest you make a New Day’s resolution instead.
