The opposite of addiction is connection. Lots of it. Tons and tons of connections. Not just any connection. I’m talking about the kind of connection that makes a difference. Connection that leads to correction.
As we used to say in seminary, that’ll preach.
Paul said, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29).
This is the kind of connection you will only find in meetings. I’ll give you five reasons why everyone should go to meetings.
- Make new friends.
- Learn to conquer cravings.
- Witness God’s work in the lives of others.
- Find accountability.
- Know you’re not alone.
Recovery Step: Get in a meeting. No more excuses.
