I love this simple promise from God: “I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go” (Jeremiah 45:5).
It is when we abandon our own plans and dreams for God’s plans and dreams that we find glorious freedom. Abandonment means to refuse yourself the luxury of asking any questions. If you totally abandon yourself to God, he immediately says to you, “I will give your life to you as a prize.”
I suggest that if you are not there yet – if you have not abandoned yourself to God – it is for one of two reasons.
- Your unwillingness to obey
- Your unwillingness to be simple
Recovery is not complicated. Keep it simple. Give everything away to God, then trust him with the results.
Recovery step: Abandon yourself to God.
