We need someone stronger than our problems because our problems are stronger than us.
The psalmist wrote, “Praise the Lord, who carries our burdens day after day; he is the God who saves us” (Psalm 68:19).
Dr. Karyn Hall, author of The Emotionally Sensitive Person, has a lot to say about the obstacles we face in life. She writes, “Whatever your goal, there will be obstacles in your way.” She continues, “Some people see obstacles as a puzzle to solve. Some see obstacles as an opportunity to grow. Others see obstacles as threats. Still, others see obstacles as meaning they cannot succeed. Your view of barriers to achieving your goals affects how you react.”
How do you view the obstacles in your life?
- A puzzle to solve
- An opportunity to grow
- Threats
Recovery Step: Your attitude toward obstacles will determine how far you go in recovery.
