In His Utmost for My Highest, Oswald Chambers writes, “God providentially produces a crisis where we have to decide – for or against. That moment becomes a great crossroads in our lives. If a crisis has come to you on any front, surrender your will to Jesus absolutely and irrevocably.”
When a crisis hits, you have to decide. Go all in or get completely out. I tell clients, “If you are 90 percent in, you are 100 percent out.”
My old pastor, Dr. Cecil Sewell, said it frequently: “Jesus must be Lord of all or he cannot be Lord at all.”
Your addiction has created a crisis and has brought you to a crossroads. I can’t improve on the words of Oswald Chambers. “Surrender your will to Jesus absolutely and irrevocably.”
Recovery Step: “Choose you today whom you will serve” (Joshua 24:15).
