Recovery is about more than stringing together several days of sobriety. Recovery is as much about overcoming failures as it is about creating success.
I read an interesting article in Forbes (October, 2020), which addresses seven ways to overcome failure. One of the keys is profound: “Don’t be tempted to lower your ambitions.”
In other words, don’t let your latest relapse take your eye off the ball. Your goals have not changed. Don’t alter your goals to match your actions; alter your actions to match your goals.
Paul tells us how: “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13).
Recovery Step: Never let the mistakes of your past derail the success of your future.
