A farm boy accidentally overturned his wagon load of corn. His neighbor heard him scream in frustration, and invited him over for lunch.
The farm boy said, “That’s mighty nice of you to invite me over, but Pa won’t like it.”
After a delicious lunch, the man said to the farm boy, “Before lunch, you said your Pa wouldn’t want you to take time to eat lunch with us. Where is your Pa, anyway?”
Said the farm boy, “He’s under the wagon.”
The Bible says, “An unreliable messenger stumbles into trouble, but a reliable messenger brings healing” (Proverbs 13:17).
Recovery Step: The story above offers two lessons. First, it is imperative to deliver the right message. Second, you must deliver that message on time. As men and women in recovery, we have an obligation to share our story with the right people at the right time.
