Your pain is the price you must pay for someone else’s blessing.
Rick Warren writes, “In every area of your life where you’ve had pain, you have a testimony.”
It is your suffering, not your success, that gives you credibility. No one turns to your God because you handled your great days well. They turn to God when they see you still walking with him on your worst days.
Paul declared, “I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News” (Philippians 1:12).
Paul suffered beatings. Paul suffered shipwrecks. Paul suffered eye disease. Paul suffered persecution like none of us will ever know. But Paul understood one of the hardest lessons of life and of recovery – our pain is the price we must pay for someone else’s blessings.
Recovery Step: When times are good, keep walking with God. When times are hard, keep walking with God. At all times, keep walking with God.
