Recovery without passion is just talk.
So what is passion? The word “passion” comes from the root pati, meaning to suffer. Anything about which we are passionate is something for which we are willing to suffer.
Sure it is hard to stay sober. Yes, your commitment to recovery will invite attack and temptation. But if your recovery is one of passion, you can meet that challenge – and win.
Adrian Despres said, “Passion is the amount of suffering you will delight in to achieve a goal.” How far are you willing to go in pursuit of your goal?
Recovery without passion is just talk.
Recovery Step: We are promised, “All who desire to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). So step up and get serious. Pray not for sobriety. Pray for passion.
