Who will win the presidential election in about four months? Perhaps history gives us a hint.
In the last 31 presidential elections, on average, the winner was 1.2 inches taller than the loser. And our presidents, over that time span, have been an average of 4.5 inches taller than men in general.
We all agree, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” And then we judge every book by its cover.
University of Minnesota psychology professor Ellen Berscheid says this is a mistake. She writes, “There exists a physical attractiveness stereotype that assumes a pleasing exterior covers an equally pleasing interior. But this is not true.”
Instead of judging others by how they look, what they drive, and where they live, do what God does.
“God looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).
Recovery Step: Quit judging others by things that don’t matter.
