Three men were each sentenced to 20-year prison terms. Each was allowed to bring one item into their cell, which they could keep for the entire 20 years. The first man requested a stack of books, the second requested his wife, and the third man asked for an unlimited supply of cigarettes.
At the end of the 20 years, they asked each man about his prison time.
The first man said, “I read every book and am ready to pursue a successful career.”
The second man said, “My wife and I now have five children, and look forward to sending them to college.”
The third man said, “Does anybody have a match?”
What if we could make you the same offer? What if you could have one thing? What would it be?
There are a lot of great answers. Let me leave you with one.
Recovery.
Recovery Step: Until you have recovery, you will be imprisoned by your own habits. My suggestion? “Flee sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18).
