Jay Leno asked that probing question that has kept so many of us up at night.
“How come you never see a headline that reads, ‘Psychic Wins Lottery’”?
That’s a great question. I mean, if I were a psychic, I promise you, I’d buy every winning lotto ticket I could. It wouldn’t even be gambling, because I’d be guaranteed to win.
I met a psychic in Hollywood, California (shocking, I know). Beth and I were being shown around town by a friend when a lady psychic walked up to us and started a conversation. Her intent, of course, was to pull us in so she could tell us our future – for a price. The psychic began by asking me, “So, where are you from?”
I responded, “If you were legit, you’d already know that!”
There are some things God doesn’t intend for us to know. For example, the time of his return is not knowable. Jesus said, “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows” (Matthew 24:36).
It’s okay to not know everything about your future. In fact, it’s better that way.
Recovery Step: Quit relying on what you think is going to happen and start trusting the One who will make it happen.
