“Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water there” (John 3:23).
I’m sure I’ve read that verse at least a hundred times. But it never hit me like it did today. For some reason, I never caught the impact of the last seven words: “because there was plenty of water there.”
Lesson #1: God provides what we need in the moment.
Lesson #2: The resources in your life are there for a reason.
John decided to not let the water go to waste. He baptized new believers. And that was a message just as powerful as the words of his sermons.
Quit looking for big signs from heaven. Take note of the puddles that surround you. Every resource in your life is there to be used.
God expects you to use every gift, every talent, every dime – to make a difference. Bring him a little ability along with a little availability, and get ready. All heaven is about to break loose.
Recovery Step: Look around you. You may not see an ocean, but you might see a puddle, if you look closely. God majors in the little stuff. God can use every puddle in your life – if you let him.
