There are a lot of people who have a lot to say about getting a lot of rest.
Solomon: “There is a time to be silent and a time to speak” (Ecclesiastes 3:7).
Blaise Pascal: “All men’s miseries derive from not being able to be in a quiet room alone.”
Mother Teresa: “God cannot be found in noise.”
God: “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
There are quite a few things you can only do when you are quiet: (a) hear God, (b) rest, (c) pray, and (d) connect. So go ahead. Try it. Be quiet for a minute, and see what happens.
Recovery Step: Set aside time to be quiet today.
