Perhaps Solomon had a politician in mind when he wrote, “Fools find no pleasure in understanding, but delight in airing their own opinions” (Proverbs 18:2).
Warren G. Harding did just that 102 years ago today. He aired his own opinion.
On June 14, 1922, Warren G. Harding became the first president to address the American people over the radio. His speech was part of a dedication ceremony for a memorial in Baltimore for Francis Scott Key, writer of The Star-Spangled Banner.
We have been “airing our own opinions” for a long time. Here’s a better idea: air God’s opinions. Spend time in His Word, time on your knees. Get to know the Father intimately. Learn his heart. And then learn to speak on his behalf.
Recovery Step: Step 12 tells us to help others find recovery. Here’s your assignment. When you help others, learn to put truth above opinions. Put God’s Word ahead of your own.
