It didn’t seem possible 1,000 days ago. When we launched There’s Still Hope, it seemed like a good idea to write a devotional on recovery for a few of my closest friends. They affirmed what I had written, so I wrote another one the next day. And now, 1,000 days later, here I am – still writing what God puts on my heart. Our audience has grown from about 100 to 600, from at least 15 different countries. Along the way, Beth and I have met incredible people who have become friends for life.
The ministry continues to prosper, as we offer help through our 90-Day program, Beth’s Partner Recovery Groups, personal coaching, and my new Freedom Groups. We have been blessed to speak in some wonderful settings, and this has only helped our own journey of recovery go deeper and further than we thought possible when I gave my clinical disclosure in Oklahoma City in 2013.
I want to use this space today to offer thanks, first to my Savior whose grace is why I’m still here, usable to a loving God. And I am so grateful to Beth. Without her love, forgiveness, and wisdom, I would know far less about the nature of God. She is my partner in every way.
And there is one couple we want to name – Milton and Kathie Magness. Their friendship and wisdom have fueled this ministry from the start. Milton is my mentor and the encouragement he and Kathie continue to bestow upon us is beyond measure.
Finally, we thank you for reading, and for your input. When these articles are a blessing to you, many of you tell us. That means more than you can imagine. As long as you keep reading, I’ll keep writing.
1,000 down – and we’re just getting started.
