Last year, I wrote my favorite book to date, Recovery Rules. I unpack 100 truisms of recovery. Let me give you a few of the rules here. Pick one that you like and live by it today.
- If you’re 90% in, you are 100% out.
- Addiction isn’t a bad problem; it’s a bad solution.
- If you can stay sober for 20 minutes, you can stay sober.
- God won’t use you despite your past, but because of it.
- Free cheese is always available in the mousetrap.
- Relapse is not an event, but a process.
The Bible says we are to sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). I pray these rules will help to sharpen your recovery today.
In response, help me with my recovery. If you have a one-sentence inspiration on recovery, send it to me by responding to this email. I’d love to hear from you!
