“Regrets, I’ve had a few.
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do,
And saw it through without exemption.”
– Frank Sinatra, My Way
Regrets – we’ve all had a few. Let’s talk about regrets.
According to psychologist Tom Gilovich, there is a difference between short-term and long-term regrets. In the short term, we tend to regret the mistakes we’ve made. But in the long term, we regret the opportunities we’ve missed.
In recovery, it is critical that you miss as few opportunities as possible.
Recovery Step: Exercise faith. Capture every opportunity. Don’t take it from me. Learn from the Master himself: “He could not do any miracles there, except that he laid hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he was amazed at their unbelief.” (Mark 6:5-6).
