Most of us take credit for our wins and blame God for our losses.
We don’t actually say it. But we think it. “I got the promotion because I deserved it.” “I earned the raise.” “I worked for everything I’ve got.”
But when things don’t go our way, it is beyond our control. We blame God for disappointing us, for somehow coming up short.
It’s called pride.
You can walk in pride, but not for long. God will always intervene. “Those who walk in pride he is able to humble” (Daniel 4:37).
Thomas Morton said, “Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real.” If you want to be real, there is only one way to get there – humbly.
Recovery Step: Reverse the script. Give God credit for every win.
