On this date in history something interesting happened. On January 5, 1950, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer hit #1 on the Billboard Pop Charts. The song would sell over 8 million copies and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1985.
What is so interesting about that? Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a Christmas song. But it didn’t hit #1 until 11 days after Christmas.
Odd timing. But it hit #1 eventually, and that’s what matters.
Jesus told the story of two sons (Matthew 21:29-31). One son said he’d obey his father’s orders, but did not. The other said he wouldn’t, but eventually did.
Recovery comes to those who do the right thing, even if they don’t do it the first time.
